Chapter II

As the Boeing 757 taxied down the runway, Siwon woke up Sungmin. He stretched on the first class seat of the plane, wearing his trusty hat and sunglasses; he looked like a normal tourist. The lady seated two seats before him was trying to catch his eye, but he ignored it. Siwon nudged him and asked. “Hyung. I was just wondering, why here?” “I just saw this place and I thought I’d check it out.” He answered while checking appearance.
The plane stopped smoothly and they gathered their things, they let the other passengers pass before getting off.
They took a cab to their hotel. Rested and talked about how they will spend their four weeks. They decided to first explore Manila. They went on foot, they had walked for hours, drinking in all the sights and scents of the city.
‘Are you tired? Let’s have a drink first.” Sungmin pointed to a friendly looking café across the street. They entered and took a sit. Outside it had started to rain. “It’s a good thing we came here. Let’s stay here all afternoon. It’s nice and relaxing in here.” Siwon suggested, Sungmin nodded and stood up to order. As he stepped on to the counter, he saw her. She was pouring coffee like a pro. She was wearing a white long sleeved top with the sleeves pulled up to her elbows.
What captivated Sungmin was her eyes, they were as brown as chocolates but still so sad. She looked up to him, smiled and said, “Hi! Can I get you anything?”

Sungmin didn’t know why, but he got tongue tied “I-I-I w-want c-coffee-e-e.” His heart was pounding so hard. He was finding it hard to breath. The girl was looking at him strangely and said uncertainly. “Yes, we do serve coffee but can I ask what kind?” Suri was starting to think that this man in front of her was odd. Sungmin just stood there looking like a complete fool. Siwon saw what happened. He ordered two cappuccinos’ and dragged Sungmin away from her.
Suri saw the tall guy who dragged the crazy one away from her. The guy caught her attention and felt something inside.

Sungmin wanted to see her again; he went back that night and the day after. He just liked looking at that girl. He didn’t know how he was going to get to know her, but he wanted her so much it tortures him that he was so near yet so far. Tomorrow he thought; I’ll introduce myself. So he tried to gather as much courage as he can.

After a couple of days, Siwon went back to the café. He went up to the counter and ordered another cappuccino. “One cappuccino for Siwon.” Wow that was a weird name. She thought. Siwon walked up to her and said, you put something in my coffee two days ago didn’t you?” ”What do you mean? Did it make you sick?” “Yes.” Siwon replied, I started thinking about you.” Suri annoyed retorted, “We only serve coffee here, not girls now if you don’t want to cause a scene. You will take your coffee, drink it as quietly as you can and leave, ok?” Siwon, startled by her response, still managed to keep his cool. “If I drink this quietly will you go out with me?”
“GET OUT!”
Sungmin saw all that happened he confronted Siwon and demanded to know what he was doing. Siwon told him that he wants her and wont stop until he gets what he wants. This confession of Siwon angered him and he punched him. “THIS WAS MY ADVENTURE! YOU JUST TAGGED ALONG AND NOW YOU ARE RUINING MY VACATION!’’ and he storms out. Leaving Siwon wondering what he meant.

After that Siwon came every day at the café. Suri was scared of letting anyone new in her life; she liked Siwon and was touched by his efforts. But she knew that sooner or later Siwon has to leave. Just like everyone in her life. She’s anxious with her feelings if they are real or just an infatuation.

Siwon finally got a date with Suri. After filling the whole café with flowers and insisting on helping out as a waiter there. She was cynical at first about Siwon. But as she saw Siwon’s attempts, it slowly melted her and agreed to have dinner, and that’s where she realized that her feelings were real.

The first time Sungmin met Suri was as Siwon’s girl, he tried to hide the fact that his heart broke. He cursed himself why he had let her go. He knew he loved her but thought of how her life was going to be. He turns away from her every time he sees those brown eyes. Now he saw that the sadness in them was gone. He wished that he would be the one to take away that sadness. He went out and got himself drunk for the first time. And then he found himself standing in front of the café. Suri saw her and helped him get inside. He accidentally revealed his feelings to her; Saying that he’s the one who saw her first. “But I know you are happy with Siwon, so I’m letting you, so just tell him that he must take care of you, or he would have to answer to me.” Suri was stunned to hear that; but told him that Siwon set her free from the hurt of being alone. Hearing that, Sungmin instantly sobered up. He said sorry and she should just forget the things he said. He went back to Korea the next day, earlier than scheduled so Siwon was trying to stop him. “You should stay, keep her happy.” Siwon now felt that Sungmin had feelings for Suri. But, he trusts Sungmin. He knew that he won’t do anything to threaten their friendship.

At a dinner, Siwon was nervous, he needs to go back to Korea soon, he extended his stay here for another two weeks, and now they want him back. He dreaded to tell Suri what he does; at first he told her that he was a car salesman. And now he needs to tell her the truth. “Suri, if I told you something that’s not true. What would you say?”
“What? What is it?”She asked. “I am not a car salesman in Korea. I’m an actor. I’m also known on other parts of Asia. I was glad that you didn’t know who I am; many girls dated me before because of my popularity. But you liked me as I am. I really really like you. I want to continue this. Please come with me back to Korea. ’’
Enraged, Suri stood up. Mad at Siwon for hiding his true identity. Mad at his lies.
‘’yes, I had like you, but not anymore, you are a liar! Why did you have to lie? Do you think I was one of your girls? Well, I’m not. I thought you’re different.” Suri now had tears in her eyes. “You just came in to my café, into my life and I thought that was special.” Siwon “It was!’ It was! I love you!”
She scoffed; “love? Why are you telling me this now? Is this what you use when you break up with your girls? I thought this was real. But this is just a big lie that you made. Are you satisfied? Dating and breaking up girls from every country you visit? You’re right I didn’t really know you. We should stop this right now.”
She stood up and ran out from the restaurant, ran away from Siwon.

CAPPUCINO LOVE

Chapter I

“Okay guys!” the director shouted. “That’s enough for today!” his students gave cheers of delight as their rehearsal for their musical concludes. “Sungmin!” he calls to the lead star. “Manager wants to talk to you.” “Yes” Sungmin replied as the other characters and dancers bowed to him.
Sungmin is the star of the musical. He started his career in the music industry shortly after graduating in high school. He debuted as a singer then as a dancer, after a while, he branched out into acting as well. His latest project, this musical has been garnering positive reviews from the critics.
Sungmin, has a face worth billions of dollars. A heartthrob has a body that makes girls drool and other men envious. Coming from a good family background, he doesn’t need stardom to live. He just loves his craft and likes the attention. But behind the bright lights and full schedules he is a lonely man. He grew up without any brothers and sisters. He had a lot of friends, for publicity purposes. He only has one friend. Siwon, they were friends even before they had learned how to walk. Their grandfathers were war comrades. Sungmin’s father is a lawyer who has Siwon’s father as his partner in one of the most prestigious law firms in Korea, Sungmin and Siwon wants nothing to do with running a law firm are both in the music industry. They have a friendly competition between them. They are both stars, idolized by the younger generation but still remain friends over the years.
“Siwon, manager needs me; you meet me outside, okay? Sungmin told Siwon and the latte bade goodbye. He knocked on the office door and entered.
“Hello hyung!” Sungmin greeted his manager. “Sit down.” the manager replied. “I have heard great reviews about your show and I want to keep it that way. There’s a movie offer for you do you want it? I’m signing you up” Sungmin sat there, thinking he needs a break. He spoke up. “I would like that, but can I take a few weeks off? I just finished an album and a musical I need to rest.” His manager looked at him strangely and asked “why are you asking for a vacation all of a sudden? You’ve never done that.” Sungmin replied quietly “I need it now I saw this place on TV and I want to go.” “Who are you going with?” His manager asked curiously. “I don’t know maybe I’ll go alone.”
Suddenly Siwon entered the room and said “I’ll go with him so don’t worry anything about ok?” The manager thought for a moment and said, “OK. I’ll clear out both your schedules, you have four weeks. Where are you planning to go anyway?” “Philippines.” Sungmin answered “ I saw this place and I foung it nice, there are many Koreans there and we can blend in.”
“Fine as long as you don’t create problems, you can go.”
“YES!”


“One tall latte for Sam!” Suri called out as she tapped the bell on the top of the counter. Suri wiped the sweat out of her forehead and told her waitress. “There are many coffee drinkers today. It’s a good day.”
“Wow. The owner is worried about the sales of her café.” Her cousin Patrick spoke up. “I’m not worrying just glad that we are on the right track.” Suri replied sarcastically. Suri is a twenty three year old coffee shop owner. She is a hardworking girl and focused on her business more than anything else. Orphaned at the age of fifteen, her parents died in a car crash while she was in America studying. When she graduated from Columbia University, she went back to the Philippines to reopen her parent’s café. Being a good businesswoman, she expanded her business rehired their former workers and was hands-on to the business ever since. As a young and beautiful woman, she was a target for bachelors. But she has no time for love. She had built a wall around her that no one was able to penetrate. She put all her energies into her work, which is how she lived her life for years.

CAPPUCINO LOVE

Characters:

Sungmin – an adventurist, an idol who went to the Philippines to relax and unwind, but found something much better than that. He was a star in his own country decided that he wanted to do something better. Lost the love of his life because of a decision he made and found a second chance at love, still faced with difficult choices.

Siwon – also an idol, a lady killer, found himself in love with a woman he thought he could get. Until Suri showed him that not everything in life was about looks and charm. He fell in love with Suri but made a mistake that made her leave him.

Suri – a girl who thought she was doing everything she wants until love bounded her. Because of that love she made an ultimate sacrifice and made the biggest mistake of her life. She lost a love but found in the eyes of someone who had an unrequited love for her.

Jan suk – Sungmin’s former lover, a master manipulator. Born as a rich and popular girl. She became the antagonist between Sungmin and Suri as she tries to get Sungmin back.

Min Ji – Suri’s friend. She became like a mother and a sister to Suri when she came to Korea.

Mi Young – an antagonist, she seduced Siwon and used him to get higher star status.

Plot

Sungmin, in order to make his father’s dream come true of becoming a performer, signed a contract that made him lose his girlfriend and everything else as he made a name for himself. He thought that the fame was worth it. But found himself lonely at times. He decided to take a vacation out of the country and asked his friend, Siwon to go with him. There in the Philippines, he met Suri, a talented and smart girl who was afraid of taking chances. Who owns and works at a coffee shop/restaurant she captured the heart of Sungmin and Siwon because of her charm and easygoing personality. As she chose Siwon. She was forced to make a huge decision of relocating from the Philippines to Korea. There she made a huge adjustment and tried to go with the flow of Siwon’s life. Their relationship was smooth sailing at first, until the reality of their situation sank in. Siwon cheats on her and she decided to leave him. Not knowing where to go, she ran to Sungmin and they formed a relationship. Siwon, tries to win Suri back but she refuses. Until she met Sungmin’s former flame, Jan Suk. The four of them got caught in a tangle of love, trust, friendship and lies.

I always see posters and fliers for World Vision, but i never really took a second look and just keep on doing my own thing. As for someone who is not a very charitable person when it comes to those who I reallly have no idea who, before i thought that charities are for famous people and celebs who can afford to spend time and money to those in need. I have seen and heard of news about hunger, malnutrition, illiteracy and those calamities that strike our land. I see these newscast and their cries of help but i just say, "Oh those poor people, why did that happen?". Then after that I just move on and forget about is after a few minutes. Someone made me stop and think, " I'm taking up Education as a degree, why don't i use what i have to help?" I also love kids, so i thought why not start to help now? Why not join a child centered organization? All those dreams of teaching i had when i was a child can now come true. And it can also help those in need! So it's like doing two things at the same time. So i went to their website and signed up.
